Relatives of an 80-year-old man in Lone Jack, Missouri, said that after
he rode on his tractor to tell utility workers to get off his property,
police arrived, pulled him off the tractor and beat him. Bill Swan
suffered a a bloodied face, bruised hip and two broken ribs. Police said
that police told him they yanked Bill Swan off the tractor after he
yelled at workers in a public easement, refused orders to get down,
tried to run them over and grabbed for an officer's gun. His wife Libby
said he might not have heard police because he's hard of hearing.
"Sometimes I have to get right in his face and talk to him," she said.
Bill Swan faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and
assault on an officer. read more
