Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, a Republican who was considered to be Mitt
Romney's running mate in 2012, has decided to run for re-election rather
than seek the presidency in 2016. Portman, 58, made news last year when
he flipped to support for gay marriage after his college-age son told
him he was gay. "Some people say it would have hurt me. Some people say
it would have helped me. The country is obviously moving on that issue,"
Portman said. Three other GOP senators are reportedly considering a
run: Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Marco Rubio of Florida and Ted Cruz of
 Texas.
