3 corps members died in Kano –NYSC 0

Three members of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kano died during the 2015 service year, the state Coordinator, Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf Baba, has disclosed.
He also revealed that 22 corps members were punished for acts of indiscipline, adding that while some of them would have their service year extended, others would face outright repetition of the whole year.
He was speaking yesterday in Kano, during the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the Batch ‘’C’ members of the NYSC, held at the Nigeria Immigration Training School, Kano.
He recalled that 1,681 corps members had completed their service year and would be discharged today.
He also said some corps members distinguished themselves and were worthy of acknowledgment and singled out Miss Rukayat Adebisi Olabisi from University of Ilorin, alongside eight others for their unequalled contributions to the state.
Commending the state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his support, he charged the stakeholders of the scheme to rise to the challenge of reinvigorating the community development activities of corps members.
